The Grinding Process

CNC Grinding

Plunge grinding is a fundamental operation in precision manufacturing of round items, to get shafts with high dimensional accuracy, high tolerances and optimal surface finishes. The grinding process is performed by means of an abrasive wheel which acts on the sections that are in direct contact with the work piece. For example, to build bearing seats. By the removal of micro shavings, we can reach sub-micron levels of tolerances and minimal surface roughness.

The result is influenced by three factors:

1) From the characteristics of the particle size and the chemical and physical composition of the grinding wheel;
2) From the working parameters, such as the cutting speed and feeder speed; and
3) From the machines that can work with extreme precision, equipped with sophisticated control equipment during the process.

Meva has a stock of the latest CNC grinding machines equipped with automatic feeding parts for loading and unloading and has the know-how to meet the most stringent requirements on the market. The CNC centerless grinding machine completes the range of applications for large scale jobs where it is essential to have great potential production and extraordinary competitiveness.
